Caring for embroidery

It will not crack or peel

The letters are not printed. Each one is cut from woven fabric and satin-stitched around every edge, or worked in chenille yarn. There is no film on the surface to crack, so it does not need the careful handling a printed transfer does.

Washing

  • Machine wash cold, inside out.
  • Gentle cycle. Mild detergent.
  • No bleach, no fabric softener on the stitching.

Drying

Tumble dry low, or lay flat. High heat is the one thing that will shorten the life of a garment — not the embroidery.

Ironing

Iron inside out, and keep the iron off the stitching itself. If you must press the front, put a cloth between the iron and the letters.

Chenille

Raised chenille may fluff slightly with wear. That is the yarn behaving as it should, not a fault. Do not trim it.
